Clubs—Environmental Alliance
Description: The Environmental Alliance is a group of concerned students that are committed to raising awareness about environmental issues, and to reducing our environmental impact as individuals, a school community, and as citizens of the world. During the 2008/2009 school year we worked on refining our recycling system, reducing paper waste, conducting a power use audit of the building (as part of our EcoSchools renewal application), creating a visual display in the school, setting up a recycling depot for items such as printer cartridges and cell phones, organizing waste-free lunch days, and hosting an Earth Day assembly. Thanks to all our efforts from the student and staff, we achieved gold status as an EcoSchool! The EA also helps to maintain the plants in our Solarium/school. The jobs are plenty, but the group is very energetic!
